Not Knitting

I have not been very good about picking up my needles lately.  I have been thoroughly distracted by house hunting, up until the last day and a half….now I am just consumed by discomfort in my foot.  Nervousness has set in.  I will be back in the hospital on Tuesday to have stage 2 embolization of my venous malformation in my right foot.  This time I am going in with my eyes wide open about the impending pain.  Our house hunting, had kept the looming procedure burried in the busyness of thoughts of moving, but now that we have found a house, have a purchase agreement, I can no longer hide from the fact that it is creeping up on me.  I look forward to having less pain in my foot, I just dread the pain that it will take to get there.  My oldest starts school a week later, and I really hope that I am able to enjoy the excitement of the first days of school, not be counting the minutes between pain pills.  So at a time when I really should be picking up my needles, finding away out of this worrisome thought hole, and find something pleasant to distract me from something I have no control over.  I will pull myself up, well sit a little taller in my recliner, find my needles wedged beside me and create something, anything that will put a smile on someone’s face, if not my own.

Yikes! I hope you do start feeling better soon. Of all the things to have pain in, I think head-hands-feet are probably some of the worst because it can shut your movement down pretty quick. I have a surgery coming up in the new year and I’m hoping I can still knit through the pain to help me get through recovery. Good luck!

Thanks, I think knitting through out the last procedure helped a lot, a great distraction….I just need to keep reminding myself to pick up the needles, I’ll feel better.
