Triple the fun

So I haven’t been on much lately, with my oldest heading to college in the fall and five younger siblings keeping me on my toes, I’ve been busy.  Not so busy that I haven’t been knitting just not as much as usual.  (I might be a little distracted by Pokemon too).  But I have three good reasons to buckle down and knit non-stop.  We are just weeks away from my best friends scheduled c-section for triplets.  Baby knitting times three…I am having fun buying yarn and knitting little items.  Three little girls, two are identical, third might be too but we won’t know until after they are born.  So exciting. So here is what I’m working on right now.

Perfect fit newborn socks
Love the stretchy fit of the socks, now to finish this pair and make two more pairs.

Something different

I had another request for a newborn hat, specifically a sock monkey hat.  I myself hadn’t made one yet so I was excited to make something different. Upon looking at the dozens of hat patterns on Ravelry and realizing the best choice is to crochet one.  I haven’t crocheted something in a few months and due to crochet-trauma when I first attempted to knit booties I get nervous I will distort the pattern (one bootie fit my Aunt and the other was child size and neither was suitable for a baby)  I have recovered enough to crochet quite a bit, with occasional flare ups of insecurity. The hat turned out great, my customer seems pleased (she hasn’t seen the original yet just a photo) and I think I want to make my kids the hat minus the monkey face (teens can be funny about what they are willing to wear).

So I was busy knitting

So I was busy knitting Friday, so busy I didn’t update my blog, and Saturday, well it was Valentines Day, enough said. So Friday I knit something very cool. A hat and tie for a newborn, special order from a photographer. I really like the results and I am glad I kept notes. Now I am going to add a matching diaper cover.
Here’s the adorable tie and hat

I finished the pattern and put it up on my blog. I hope you all enjoy it. I plan on making other sizes too, just taking baby steps 🙂
