size F crochet hook
Cotton yarn (I use my scrap yarn from dishcloths)
Dry beans, Lima or northern beans work well, (they just need to be big enough not to pass through the stitches)
Techniques used: Magic ring, sc-single crochet, sc2tog-decrease sc
Magic ring, chain 1, 6 sc, slip stitch to first sc,
Rd 2: 2sc in each sc around; 12 st
Rd 3: *1 sc, 2 sc in next st* repeat around; 18 st
Rd 4: *1 sc, 1 sc, 2 sc in next st* repeat around; 24 st
Rd 5-8: sc in each st around
Rd 9: *sc, sc, sc2tog (uses next 2 stitches)* repeat around; 18 st
Rd 10: *sc, sc2tog* repeat around; 12 st
Fill with dry beans
Rd 11: sc2tog around; 6st
Fill with more beans just before closing, draw up through the last 6 stitches and pull tight.
